Professional packers work quickly, which is useful until a passport, medication bottle, or laptop charger disappears into a sealed carton. Before the crew arrives, collect everything that must travel with you and place it in one clearly marked area.
A locked car, empty bathroom, or labeled closet can serve as the no-pack zone. Put keys, wallets, documents, medicine, jewelry, work devices and the clothes you will wear during the move there. Add pet food, children’s comfort items and any tools needed immediately at the new home.
Use or donate open food when possible. Separate paint, fuel, propane, pesticides and other items that movers may not transport. Empty trash cans and laundry baskets so their contents are not packed accidentally.
Tell the packing lead about heirlooms, artwork, delicate electronics and furniture with hidden compartments. If you are taking an item yourself, mark it before work begins. See our packing services in Avon for help choosing full or partial packing.
